"Down and Dirty"

I’m proud to announce it is time for us to officially launch Naka BBoy Edition!
Naka BBoy edition is a project put together to give back to the BBoy community by providing a safe spot to build long lasting careers and insane talent through solid collaborations amongst real BBoy run companies, organizations and individuals. This project will be lead by the man himself—BBoy Wicket.
2010 is cooking!
Thinking back on 2009 I realize how far we have come and how much more we have to go. The dream of being part of the best athletes in the world has been with me for over 20 years. Pieces have slowly been falling into place as time has gone by, but in 2009 thanks to all the amazing athletes, professionals, family and friends surrounding me it has finally come to a boiling point where we can start cooking some real stuff up. Stay tuned for 2010 because we are coming in hot!
No Barbell, No Athlete: Part 3. PRESS

The Press, also known as the Overhead Press, is one of the fundamental barbell exercises any athlete should be exposed to in order to enhance their strength and conditioning program and performance.
Breakdance: Thursdays at 5pm
Naka Athletics is now offering a Breakdance class at 5pm every Thursday at San Francisco CrosSFit.
Naka Athletics x Trendsplant

At Naka Athletics we are aware that nothing can be done alone and that we must surround ourselves by the best in order to accomplish our mission. That is why we are proud to present our first collaboration with Trendsplant, an up and coming fashion and art company based in Spain.
No Barbell, No Athlete: PART 2. Back Squat

If you had to pick one movement to make yourself better at your sport, this would be the one.
Why?
Squatting enhances overall body strength, especially in the legs and hips-the human body’s power generator- and facilitates speed and power development. It also takes trunk stability to the next level. Yes, TRUNK STABILITY, not core*
No barbell, No athlete. PART 1

If you consider yourself an athlete but you don’t have a strength and conditioning program, I am sorry to be the one that breaks you the news; You are NOT an athlete. And if you do have a strength and conditioning program but it doesn’t include a barbell, the truth is you are not serious about being an athlete.
BBoy Finesse is in da house!
Naka Athletics is proud to announce the new addition to our team.
Bobby “Finesse” Vicario. BBoy Finesse will be part of Naka BBoy Edition, Naka Athletics’ new project. He will be teaching break dancing for all levels and ages. Bobby will represent his new company SF CR8IVE and bring a fresh style and coaching method for all our athletes and BBoy enthusiasts out there to enjoy.
Here is a little you should know about him
“An apple a day keeps the doctor away”
It will take more than an apple a day to keep the doctor away, but if you are an athlete and you are training long days and constantly on the move, don’t resort to an energy drink. Try an apple instead and see if it gets the job done without creating a nasty addiction, spiking your insulin levels, making you slower and fatter, rotting your teeth or making you crash just a while later.
Welcome to the Naka Blog

To jump start this blog I wanted to take a minute to thank all the people that have made Naka Athletics possible.
