Athlete Course Overview

Spend a full day at CrossFit Verve with Coach Carl Paoli and learn how to apply basic gymnastics, acrobatic and freestyle movement to your CrossFit training program. This will be Carl's second visit to CrossFit Verve! Even if you had attended Carl's first seminar back in July, there is still plenty more to learn as Carl will introduce many more new progressions, and new movements. If you want to increase your agility, mobility, and the versatility in your CrossFit WODs, then this is the perfect seminar for you! This is an 8-hour seminar session, with a half hour lunch break.

This seminar is appropriate for athletes, coaches, and fitness enthusiasts at any skill level. You'll learn how to safely perform, coach and correct basic gymnastic movements in order to enhance your performance and reach your personal goals.

Trainer Course Overview

Spend a half day with Carl to learn how to learn all aspects of coaching gymnastics and body-weight training for your CrossFit program. While it is not a requirement to attend the Athlete Course, it is highly recommend you attend both sessions as the material in this Trainer course will compliment material covered on the previous day.

You will get a chance learn how to coach, cue, and spot athletes for a variety of gymnastics movements and body skills, and leverage gymnastics-based training to increase performance across the board. Carl will explain in detail the application of the Position-Movement-Purpose framework, and the important of gymnastics Skill Transfer to all aspects of CrossFit including lifting and endurance components.

Learning Process

This seminar will be organized to deliver both lectures and practical sessions. Not only will you learn learn the foundational theories, but you will also get a chance to visualize and apply these concepts through active demonstrations. You will learn new skills from this seminar that are scalable and progressive, and Coach Carl will demonstrate these skills with safe, simple and easy-to-follow progressions that can be applied by anyone at any given level.

The goal with this seminar is to introduce you to the world of gymnastics and freestyle movement, and help to make it relevant to your individual training program. By understanding the foundation of basic body mechanics and applying these concepts to all aspects your life, you will noticeably enhance your performance at any given level.


You will be taught a wide variety of movements and techniques, including these and others:

  • Strength and conditioning
  • Hand balancing
  • Rings
  • Bar
  • Basic rolls and tumbling
  • Freestyle movement
  • Trampolining
